Rosa davurica, commonly known as the Daurian or Amur rose, is a hardy deciduous shrub in the family Rosaceae, native to Northeast Asia. It grows up to 1.5 m tall and is appreciated for its decorative qualities. In addition to its stunning appearance, this shrub also offers numerous health benefits. The fruit of Rosa davurica (called Cimeiguo in Chinese) is a very rich source of vitamins and minerals, especially in vitamins A, C and E, flavanoids and other bio-active compounds. It is also a good source of essential fatty acids, which is fairly unusual for a fruit.
