Wilhelm Will KG (“Will, Wetzlar”) was a German company founded in 1923 in Nauborn near Wetzlar by Wilhelm Will (1898–1959). Its main production focus was microscopy, projection optics, and camera optics. One of its products was the Wetzlar Wilon 50mm f/2.8 lens, designed for cameras manufactured by Apparate und Kamerabau GmbH. This lens features a hybrid breech‑lock mount with a rotating threaded ring used to secure it to the camera — similar to the Diax mount, but with different dimensions. Among vintage lenses, the Wetzlar Wilon 50mm f/2.8 stands out due to its rarity: the model was produced in a highly limited edition, making each copy a valuable find.
