Linum baicalense, commonly known as Baikal flax, is a plant in the family Linaceae, native to southern Siberia, Mongolia, and northern China. The specific epithet baicalense derives from Lake Baikal, reflecting the species’ endemic status in the Baikal region. It is sometimes listed as a synonym of Linum nutans (nodding flax) in taxonomic literature. In traditional Mongolian medicine, rubs made with Linum baicalense are applied to soothe neuralgic and muscle pain.
